Two years ago when I started my Informant Zone blog I made a big mistake. I modeled my color scheme after one of my passions – Miami Vice. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Despite having reached a Google page rank of 4 with it at the time, the teal and pink color scheme wasn’t retaining long term readers.
Very rarely do we actually get to see what other online marketers are ACTUALLY doing to make the sales they are. Most will not tell you since it costs them their own time and money to research a case study and feel that the information should remain intimate to them. That, or they try to sell it to you in a program that teaches you how to make money. Either way, it’s rare to see examples like this and I hope this puts Facebook advertising into perspective for more people.
I grabbed this posted case study off of JohnChow.com and it was written by the CEO of Purpose Inc. He used it as his panel presentation at the recent Affiliate Summit West held in Las Vegas. I’ve quoted it exactly so please do not blame me for some of the spelling and grammatical errors!

I went to the concert last night to see Airbourne and the Joe Perry Project both open for Motley Crue. Two years ago when I went it was Motley Crue opening for Joe Perry and Aerosmith. Times change! I got quite a bit of footage. It was hard to film however as it was of course somewhat of a rough concert and everyone around me was going crazy. I had wanted to film Dr. Feelgood (which was of course played last and blew the roof off of the stadium) but I used up all of my camera’s memory from recording in HD. Mick Mars is incredibly good considering his physical condition. He sounds just like he did when he recorded the Shout At The Devil album 25 years ago. Vince is starting to lose his voice though I noticed. They still killed the place though!
We are all curious and we all would like to know how our competitor’s sites are doing. It’s always good to gauge your site against other’s in your niche to understand how well your site is performing in the big picture.

I’m sure if you’ve been around any type of marketing in your life you’ve likely heard of this term. If you read my post from yesterday and my “About” page, you will see exactly that is what I did. I never post articles by other bloggers (since I am really proud of my own research) however I was on ClickBank’s blog and saw this. Many affiliate guru’s tell newcomers what they need to be doing to make money promoting affiliate products however they never go into detail about how to actually do it. This explanation lists out some good points we all could take into consideration – even if not promoting ClickBank products.
I am always on the lookout for Wordpress plugins that will make my blogging life easier as well as make my blog more interactive and user friendly. I have found through trial and error that many of the plugins simply do not work anymore as intended and some just plain suck despite the great description given to them.
